A seizure is caused by abnormal electrical activity in the brain, which may go unnoticed in some instances or in severe cases may produce a change or loss of consciousness and involuntary muscle spasms, known as convulsions. An estimated 10% of Americans will have a seizure in their lifetime with the highest number of incidents occurring in children under 2 and adults over the age of 65. While nearly 70% of cases there is often no readily apparent causes, it’s important to recognize the symptoms and triggers of a seizure to ensure that an individual receives proper and prompt medical attention. By wearing a seizure bracelet from N-Style ID, you and those you love will always carry with them important medical information about the condition so that first responders will know what steps and medications should be taken or avoided.

Fashionably Designed Medical Bracelets for Seizures
Once you select a style of seizure bracelet that suits you and your loved ones, N-Style ID offers a free customized engraving of your medical information. Most often in the event of a seizure an individual is unable to communicate their condition or medical needs to those around them, so N-Style ID’s seizure medical alert bracelet can do the talking for them and let friends, family, coworkers and emergency responders know the necessary steps and precautions to take in the event of an emergency. If additional detailed instructions are necessary that won’t fit on the seizure bracelet, the bracelet can indicate that further information can be found in the individual’s wallet or purse on our free medical ID card.
Types of Seizures
Generalized Seizures: Both sides of the brain are involved from the start of the attack. The common subtypes of these incidents are tonic-clonic (grand mal) and absence seizures (petit mal). Febrile and infantile spasms are two types of generalized seizures that occur almost exclusively in young children.
Partial (or Focal) Seizures: These seizures begin in a specific part of the brain and may be contained there or could spread to the entire brain. In these occurrences, the person may remain conscious or suffer impaired consciousness.
While it’s not always possible to know the cause of seizures, it can be helpful for you and those around to know potential triggers of seizures and, depending on the condition, it may be useful to include this information on your seizure bracelet in the event of an emergency or to prevent further incidents.
